誰もが知る伝説のロックバンド、ザ・ビートルズ。ビートルズがリヴァプール出身なのは周知の事実だが、生前ジョン・レノンは、「僕らはリヴァプールで生まれ、ハンブルクで育った」と語っていた。1960年のハンブルク初訪問の経緯から、1963年の「プリーズ・プリーズ・ミー」のヒットを経て、1966年の6回目の訪問までを、元メンバーと関係者の証言やアーカイブ映像と音声、アニメーションなどを使って、まるで昨日のことかのように生き生きと蘇らせる。
