(CASTELLANO) Un pequeño favor es de esas películas que parecen una cosa, luego otra, y al final... ninguna de las dos. Pero eso no es necesariamente malo. De hecho, ahí está parte de su encanto. Paul Feig firma una comedia negra con toques de thriller que, aunque no sea perfecta, resulta muy entretenida y visualmente deliciosa. Desde el primer minuto, Anna Kendrick se gana tu simpatía. Está divertidísima, natural y llena de chispa. Y aunque Blake Lively puede caer mal fuera de la pantalla, lo cierto es que aquí borda su papel.
La historia juega con los clichés de la mujer perfecta, los secretos inconfesables y los giros que buscan dejarte con la boca abierta. Algunos funcionan mejor que otros, pero en conjunto se mantiene el interés. Es cierto que en la parte final se estira un poco más de la cuenta, como si no supiera muy bien cómo rematar tanta locura, pero aún así el conjunto se sostiene gracias a su tono desenfadado y al carisma de sus protagonistas.
También destaca la estética cuidada: vestuario, fotografía y música juegan a favor de esa mezcla de sofisticación y humor retorcido que hace que Un pequeño favor no sea una más del montón. No llega a ser un clásico del género, pero es una opción muy apetecible para pasar un buen rato. Con una copa de vino en la mano, entra todavía mejor.
Y por cierto, me encanta la canción Laisse tomber les filles de France Gall. Aquí suena de maravilla.
(ENGLISH) A Simple Favor is one of those films that seems like one thing, then becomes another, and ends up being... neither. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, that’s part of its charm. Paul Feig delivers a dark comedy with a touch of thriller that, while not perfect, is quite entertaining and visually delightful. From the first minute, Anna Kendrick wins you over. She’s funny, natural, and full of spark. And even if Blake Lively might rub some people the wrong way off-screen, here she absolutely nails the role.
The story plays with clichés about the perfect woman, hidden secrets, and twists designed to keep you guessing. Some land better than others, but overall, it holds your interest. It’s true the ending stretches things a bit, as if unsure how to tie up all the chaos, but it still holds together thanks to its playful tone and the charm of its leads.
The film also shines in its visual presentation: costume design, cinematography, and music all enhance that mix of sophistication and twisted humor, making A Simple Favor stand out from the crowd. It may not be a genre classic, but it's definitely a stylish and enjoyable ride. And with a glass of wine in hand, it goes down even smoother.
And by the way, I absolutely love the song Laisse tomber les filles by France Gall. It fits perfectly here.
